Thomas Mansfield "Tommy" Pullen (Former Teacher at AHS)
Thomas Mansfield "Tommy" Pullen, age 73, of
Columbus, MS, passed away October 24, 2012, at Druid City Hospital in
Tuscaloosa, AL. Funeral services will be Saturday, October 27, 2012, at 2:00 PM
at Gunter & Peel Chapel with Rev. Todd Core officiating. The interment will
immediately follow at Friendship Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday, October
27, 2012, from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM at Gunter & Peel Funeral Home.
Mr. Pullen was born March 27, 1939, in Columbus, MS, to the
late Sanford Mansfield and Mary Agnes Pullen. He was a graduate of Lee High
School and Mississippi State University where he received his undergraduate and
masters degrees. Mr. Pullen taught history for many years, first in Ackerman,
MS, then in Greenville, MS, where he retired. He was a member of First Baptist
Church of Columbus, MS.
Survivors include his brothers, James Pullen and his wife
Melinda of Columbus, MS, and Sanford "Bubba" Pullen and his wife Mary
of Columbus, MS, and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Jimmy Pullen, Austin Dison, Scott
Collins, Joe Price, Mike Perkerson, and Walter Perrigin.
