The funeral for Mildred Irene Cagle Clendenon will be held Thursday, January 22, 2009, at 11 a.m. at Bethlehem Baptist Church near Ackerman with burial in the church cemetery. The Rev. Jerry Lawson will officiate. Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until service time Thursday at the church.

Mrs. Clendenon, 65, died Sunday at Methodist University Hospital in Memphis, Tenn. She was a retired dental assistant. She was a member of the class of 1962 at Ackerman High School.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Calvin Cagle and Junior Cagle. Survived by husband, Arsie Clendenon of Coffeeville, two sons, Mark Kilpatrick & Mike Kilpatrick of Jackson; daughter, Kim Trahan of Bay St. Louis, three sisters, June Bruce of Ben, OR, Irene Fulce of West Point, MS; Clara Mae Robinson of Ackerman; two brothers, Glenn Cagle of McCool and Marvin Cagle of Hood River, OR; 7 grandchild and 8 grandchildren.

Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or to a charity of choice. Coleman Funeral Home of Ackerman is in charge of the arrangements.

Dick Kitchens

WEST POINT – Raymond Lee “Dick” Kitchens, 78, died Wednesday, Dec. 17, 2008, at Dugan Memorial Home, in West Point. He was born Aug. 19, 1930, in Newton to Emma Jones and Walter Kitchens. He was a retired supervisor for Bryan Foods with 37 years of service. A member of West End Baptist Church, he was a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Korean War. He married Dorothy Lee Robertson Kitchens on Jan. 13, 1956, in Winston County.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Calvert Funeral Home Chapel. His nephew, Dr. David Hamilton, will officiate, and Bro. Mike Mathena and Bro. Curtis Bray will assist. Burial will follow in Memorial Garden Cemetery in West Point.

Survivors include wife, Dorothy Kitchens of West Point; two sons, Paul Kitchens (Robin) of West Point and Perry Kitchens (Emily) of Rome, Ga.; three grandchildren, Abby Lewis (Barry) of West Point, and Savannah Kitchens and Zachery Kitchens, both of Rome, Ga.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Paul Kitchens; and two sisters, Zellene Flynn and Annie Mae Hamilton.

Pallbearers will be Pirl Johnson, Gary Cunningham, Zack Kitchens, Ted Triplett, Rod Cook and Derek Eaves.
Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. T.N. Braddock and Dr. John Cox; all his former co-workers at Bryan Foods; members of Barton Ferry Hunting Club; the staff of Gilbert Hospice-Tupelo; and all his wonderful friends.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the donor's choice.
