Terry H. Gatlin, Sr, age 66, passed away on Saturday, May 2, 2009 at University Hospital in Jackson, MS. He was the oldest son of the late Grace and N.H. Gatlin.
He was a member of the Class of 1960 Ackerman High School. He was a retired mechanic and had served in the United States Army during Operation Desert Storm.
Mr. Gatlin is survived by 2 sons, Terry H. Gatlin, Jr., and Brian Pyron, both of Ackerman; 3 daughters, Denese Barksdale and Tina Lee both of Ackerman, and Stacie Britton of Shelby, N.C; one brother, Billy Gatlin of Braxton, MS and Onie Gatlin Johns of Memphis, TN; 11 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his wife, Barbara Pyron Gatlin.
Visitation will be Tuesday, May 5, 2009 from 5 pm - 8 pm at Coleman Funeral Home in Ackerman, MS. The funeral service will be on Wednesday, May 6th at 10 am at South Union Methodist Church with interment in the church cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the South Union Cemetery Fund.
