Billy F. “Bo Jack” Jackson

Billy F. “Bo Jack” Jackson died Thursday, June 18, 2009, after a brief illness. He was a resident of the Mississippi State Veterans Home in Oxford. He was a graduate of Ackerman High School, where he was a member of the football team. He was awarded a scholarship and attended East Mississippi Junior College, where he played football. He later attended Mississippi State University. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Korean War. He was a member of Concord Baptist Church. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Coleman Funeral Home in Ackerman. Burial will follow in Enon Cemetery.

Survivors include one son, Bill Jackson (Elsa) of Cypress, Texas; two daughters, Jan Taylor (Mike) of Hawkins, Texas, and Beth Theiss (Marty) of Houston, Texas; five grandchildren, Jeff, Tyler, Ryan, Isabel and Johann; three sisters, Lela Finney of Nettleton, Linda Jackson Weatherly (Danny) of Pontotoc and Betty Sue Jackson Summar (Lee) of Bartlett, Tenn.; two brothers, C.W. Jackson (Judy) of Southaven and Bobby Jackson (Evelyn) of Memphis. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Arlin Jackson.

Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Memorials may be sent to the Town of Ackerman for upkeep of Enon Cemetery; to Sanctuary Hospice House, 5159 W. Main, Tupelo, MS 38801; or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
