Charlene Senter Glasgow

Charlene Senter Glasgow, 96, entered into rest on Thursday, April 18, 2013, wife of the late Thomas Rawles Glasgow. Charlene graduated from Itawamba Junior College and taught school and music lessons before meeting and marrying her beloved Tom. Later she established and taught one of the first kindergartens in the area. She was also director of the Appalachian project which established home daycare services to prepare preschool children for learning in three area counties. She was a long time member of Ackerman Methodist Church where she taught Sunday School and chaired and volunteered with many committees and organizations. She was a charter member of The 20th Century Club and a long time member of her beloved Bridge club.


She was born in Fulton, Ms. To the late Alfred Richard Senter and Maudena Sheffield Senter. She is also predeceased by her sister Bessie Googe and her brother Patrick Senter. Both of Fulton, MS.
She is survived by her sister Sue Wiygul of Fairfax, Va.; And also her children, Roselyn G. Bryant of Evans, Ga; Felicia G. Butler and husband, Nate of Riverview, Fla; Dr. Thomas S. Glasgow and wife, Ann, of Oxford, Ms; and Dr. Richard M. Glasgow of Slidell, La. Eleven grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren.

Funeral services well be held in the Chapel of Coleman Funeral Home at 11:00 am on Wednesday, April 24th The family will receive friends the hour before the services at 10:00 am to celebrate her long life and wonderful friendships. Coleman Funeral Home of Ackerman is in charge of all arrangements.
