Hubert Hulon Pinnix

Hubert Hulon Pinnix, 87, passed away February 6, 2013 at OCH Regional Medical Center in Starkville, MS. He was born and lived in Choctaw County. He was a veteran of WW II and served in the European Theatre. His infantry unit participated in the Battle of the Bulge and Ardennes Forest.

Hulon was a farmer, forester, and retired supervisor for Babcock and Wilcox. During retirement he raised and marketed pond raised channel catfish.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe Lovick Pinnix, Sr. and Clara Love Pinnix; three brothers, Joe Lovick Pinnix, Jr. of Mathiston, MS, Coy Pinnix of Beaumont, TX, and Paul Caldwell of Salt Rock, W. Virginia.

He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Reba Doris Reed Pinnix of Mathiston; two sons, Phil Pinnix (Bobbye) of Port Gibson, MS, and Barney Pinnix (Pam) of Boise, Idaho; brother, Jimmie Pinnix of Grenada, MS; sisters, Opal McAdams and Annette Shipley, both of Memphis, TN; seven grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren, and several great great grandchildren.

Visitation for Mr. Pinnix is scheduled for Friday, February 8, 2013 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Welch Funeral Home in Starkville, MS. Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, February 9, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at Blythe Creek Baptist Church in Mathiston, MS. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
